Several international leaders were on the guest list, including U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who, in his first foreign policy speech, launched a frontal attack on the EU’s tech regulation.
The U.S. will not accept the EU’s attempts to dictate AI rules and will oppose any effort to restrict American technology through international regulations. Instead, AI should be free from ideology, censorship, and excessive control, the U.S. Vice President stated from the podium. Rather than spending resources on regulation, the U.S. will invest in data centers, energy, and chips.
