The report addresses how the digital infrastructure should be designed to reduce the risk of over-reliance on the services of tech giants.
The expert group presents seven principles that should be considered when making decisions in the digital domain:
- There must be an overview of the tech giants’ influence on digital infrastructure.
- Data should be made accessible in ways that benefit and strengthen individuals and future society.
- Alternatives to the tech giants’ services must be able to emerge and scale up.
- No one should be forced to use the tech giants’ services to access information or participate in social, cultural, and democratic communities.
- The public sector must not be dependent on the tech giants’ services.
- Danish educational institutions must be free from commercial tech giants.
- The tech giants’ platforms must be safe places to do business.
The third report marks the expert group’s final task.
