Head of the outreach division of the ADD project, Lisbeth Knudsen, writes this in an article for the Danish Library Association.
“In this new reality, where false and genuine content blend together, libraries can become a counterbalance. They can offer citizens a place where information is not driven by algorithms, but by ethical principles of enlightenment and education. They can become the center for courses in source criticism, digital literacy, and AI understanding.”
The think tank Mandag Morgen, in collaboration with the think tank Future Libraries, is currently investigating how AI affects young people’s search habits and the demands on their information competencies.
The study and recommendations will be launched in January 2025.
