The more machine, the more human?

Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, the AI hype has truly taken hold across discussions about everything from our future working lives to our human relationships. It’s a debate that often swings between dystopia and optimism: either AI will render us obsolete – or save us.

But according to journalist and author Ida Ebbensgaard, whose new book Ægte (“Authentic”) has just been released, the future with AI lies in our—human—hands. As technology becomes more prevalent, genuinely human competencies such as empathy, critical thinking, attentiveness, and relational understanding will increase in value.

And she offers a concrete proposal for how we as individuals or organisations can approach this transformation in practice:

If AI is used correctly, it can enhance our human qualities and skills. Conversely, if we make the wrong choices, it may make us cynical, constantly overwhelmed, and apathetic.

Based on Ægte and Ida Ebbensgaard’s expertise as a former AI Fellow at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), this webinar will provide an introduction to the advantages and pitfalls of AI’s entry into our personal and professional lives. Specifically, it will equip you with the insight needed to understand how we can use these technologies to strengthen ourselves as humans—both at work and in private life. Because where, as members of Dansk Magisterforening, do we place the “authentic” in a world becoming increasingly artificial?

The webinar will cover:

  • How can AI improve human work—and how might it risk doing the opposite?
  • How do we preserve and strengthen what’s “authentic” in a world where the artificial is on the rise?
  • How can we better leverage our social science, humanities, and information-critical skills through AI?
