In the research article, they examine the labour market effects of AI chatbots.
They do so using two large-scale surveys on adoption (conducted in late 2023 and 2024), covering 11 vulnerable occupations (25,000 workers, 7,000 workplaces), linked to matched employer-employee administrative data in Denmark.
Their findings show that AI chatbots have had no significant impact on earnings or registered working hours in any occupation. As such, their results challenge prevailing narratives about an imminent transformation of the labour market due to generative AI.
