The government presents a new strategy for artificial intelligence in Denmark

In February 2024, 62.5 million kroner were allocated for a strategic initiative on artificial intelligence for the period 2024-2027.

On December 2nd, the government presented the strategy, which focuses on four new initiatives:

  1. The Digital Taskforce for Artificial Intelligence, established in collaboration with KL and Danish Regions, will roll out AI solutions on a large scale in the public sector.
  2. A new Center for Artificial Intelligence in Society will provide guidance on the responsible use of AI. This will ensure that critical knowledge about AI is shared with authorities and businesses.
  3. The establishment of a platform to accelerate the development of secure and transparent Danish language models. This will strengthen the foundation for working with AI in companies and authorities.
  4. Making Danish text data available as open source, which will support the development of high-quality AI solutions that function in Danish.

The strategy also introduces three new principles to guide the use and development of responsible artificial intelligence.
