Join the debate on the development of Danish language models

06 November 2024/09.00 - 14.00
Ida Conference, Kalvebod Brygge 31, København

The AI programs we use today, both at work and in private, are primarily based on language models developed by American tech giants. However, since the spring, the Danish Language Model Consortium has been working on developing Danish language models. This can help ensure important digital infrastructure, protect Danish values, and provide greater control over the data on which the language models are trained. But can Danish language models even compete with the models of the tech giants?

Join us on November 6th, when the Algorithms, Data, and Democracy-project and IDA bring together leading figures from research, business, and politics to discuss the development of Danish language models.

At the event, you will:

  • Gain insight into the status of the Danish Language Model Consortium’s work and the current debate about the future of Danish language models.
  • Hear insightful presentations about other organizations’ experiences in building language models.
  • Meet the field’s leading actors and hear their different perspectives on the need for Danish language models.
