Join the seminar: How do predictive algorithms reshape professional work?

We invite you to attend a WETO seminar that examines the evolving role of predictive algorithms in professional work and their impact on professional jurisdictions and control in organizational settings. The seminar will be moderated by Kirstine Zinck Pedersen, Associate Professor at the Department of Organization, Copenhagen Business School.

Presentations:

1. “Building Jurisdiction on the Commons” – Bomi Kim from the Stockholm School of Economics presents an ethnographic study of how a newly formed medical image processing group creates workplace jurisdiction by interlacing two different orientations to data.

2. “Preventing Futures” – Alexander Gamerdinger from Copenhagen Business School and Prins Marcus Valiant Lantz from Roskilde University share their research on how data scientists at a Danish insurance company use predictive algorithms to prevent injuries, as well as how predictive technology redefines professional work and transforms traditional notions of risk and insurance.
